We wish all our Hungerford and associated families and friends a happy Christmas as we wrap up 2022.
The Table of Certificates & Transcripts and the Index to Journals & Newsletters 1991-2021 have been updated.
Our 2022 Annual General Meeting was held at Tyrrells Wines on 19 November 2022. Attendees were greeted on arrival with tea or coffee before the AGM started at 12 o’clock. The Meeting was well attended with 39 members and guests present as well as five proxies being lodged.

As many of you will know, John BS Hungerford [E.1.1a.7b.1c.2d] is an aficionado of long walks. When John says “going for a walk” his family know he will often be gone for several days! Last year, after a break of 8 years, John decided to do the Oxfam Trailwalker again – making it his 10th. John assembled a strong team and they did several training sessions on the trail. But COVID got in the way and the 2021 Event was cancelled.
Our Patron, the Honourable Barrie Hungerford QC, [E.9.3a.4b.1c] passed away on 26 July 2022.

It is 30 years since our first Committee Meeting and we continue to build on those early foundations laid by the original Committee Members.
Melville Cooper Newth was born at Manly, NSW, late on 3 August 1914. The guns were firing at the heads of Port Jackson, and a few hours later World War I broke out. His parents commented that he must have been one of the causes of the Great War!
