Everard Richard Hungerford (‘Tom’), born 1878 (Chorlton), England, son of Thomas Christopher and Mary Jane (Gamble) Hungerford. He was known as Tom Hungerford.
He married (1) Lena Charlotte Smith, 1899 (Wandsworth), England. They had a daughter Lena May, born 1900 and died 1900. In 1901 they were living in Chelsea. Lena died in 1937, Surrey, England aged 63.
Everard emigrated to Western Australia.
He married (2) Martha Juanita Winifred Harris, 18 April 1922, St Francis Roman Catholic Church, Armadale, WA.
Everard died 18 August 1954, in hospital in Perth, WA, as a result of injuries sustained after he had been struck by a car in Mt Hawthorn, WA. He is buried in the Roman Catholic Section, Karrakatta, WA. Martha died 18 March 1983, Yokine WA, aged 79.
Everard’s father Thomas was born in Ireland, however his connection to the Irish Hungerfords is unknown. Thomas is almost certainly related to the family of Richard and Isabella (nee Masters) Hungerford [R] due to his military connections, a period of residence in Ulster, and the use of the distinctive name ‘Everard’. Thomas Christopher [S.iii] is likely a child of John [R.3] or Henry [R.4] or Michael French [R.6] above.
